Dear 2nd Regina Families,
Welcome back to another exciting year of Scouting with 2nd Regina! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with family, adventure, and time outdoors. As we prepare to launch another Scouting season, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome both returning and new families to the largest Scout Group in Saskatchewan and one of the largest in Western Canada.
Looking back, the 2025-2026 Scouting year was nothing short of incredible. Our group continued to grow, not only in numbers but also in the opportunities and experiences we were able to provide for our youth. Every section was busy creating memories, building friendships, developing leadership skills, and embracing adventure. Whether it was a first campfire, a challenging hike, learning a new outdoor skill, or giving back through community service, our youth demonstrated what Scouting is all about.
Some of the many highlights from the past year included:
- Numerous camps and outdoor adventures throughout the year.
- Hosting the first-ever 2nd Regina Annual Winter Beaveree at Echo Valley Provincial Park, bringing together Beaver Scouts from across the province for an unforgettable weekend of fun, friendship, and Scouting spirit.
- Numerous family engagement events that brought our Scouting families together and strengthened the sense of community that makes 2nd Regina so special.
- Partnering with Lakeview United Church to assemble hampers and support those in our community who needed a little extra help.
- Nearly 30 youth and Scouters attending the Wilderness Rendezvous Scout Camp in Cypress Hills, where they challenged themselves and stepped outside their comfort zones during nine days of hiking, lightweight camping, and trail living.
- Our older Scouts and Venturers embracing international adventure by travelling to Sweden to participate in the World Scout Jamboree, proudly representing not only 2nd Regina but Canada on the world stage.
These opportunities don’t happen by accident. They happen because of an incredible team of volunteer Scouters who dedicate countless hours to planning engaging meetings, organizing camps, creating safe adventures, and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to grow and succeed.
Over the past two years, we have been fortunate to welcome many new Scouters to our leadership team. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment have helped us continue to expand the opportunities available to our youth. To every one of our volunteers, whether you’ve been with us for many years or have just joined recently, thank you. Your time and dedication make a tremendous difference in the lives of our youth.
As our group continues to grow, so does our need for volunteers. If you’ve ever considered becoming a Scouter, helping behind the scenes, or sharing your skills in any capacity, we would love to hear from you. You don’t need outdoor experience or previous Scouting knowledge, just a willingness to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. Every additional volunteer helps us create even more opportunities for our youth.
Bring a Friend. Now Is the Perfect Time!
One of the most exciting things about this year is that, thanks to many of our youth moving up into their next sections, we currently have space available in every section. This is a rare opportunity for our group.
If you’ve ever had a friend, neighbour, cousin, classmate, or coworker ask about Scouting, now is the perfect time to invite them to join.
Scouting is about so much more than weekly meetings. It’s about friendships that last a lifetime. It’s about confidence, leadership, resilience, teamwork, outdoor adventure, and opportunities that many young people simply can’t find anywhere else. Every year, we hear from families who wish they had joined sooner, and this is the perfect opportunity for someone new to become part of our Scouting family.
Please help us spread the word. Share our registration information, invite another family to visit a meeting, or simply tell others about the amazing experiences your child has had through Scouting. Your recommendation is one of the most powerful ways we continue to grow.
Looking ahead, we’re already planning another action-packed year filled with camping, hiking, canoeing, outdoor skills, STEM activities, community service, leadership development, special events, family activities, and countless opportunities for youth to challenge themselves, make new friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
We truly believe the best days for 2nd Regina are still ahead.
Thank you for choosing to be part of our Scouting family. Your support, encouragement, and commitment help make 2nd Regina the thriving, welcoming, and adventurous group it is today. We can’t wait to see everyone back in uniform, hear stories from the summer, welcome new families into our group, and begin another incredible year together.
We look forward to a year filled with adventure, friendship, growth, and unforgettable experiences.
Yours in Scouting,
The 2nd Regina Group Committee & Leadership Team
