Bottle Drive & Camp Changes

Due to recent and forecasted poor winter weather conditions, we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming bottle drive to ensure the safety of our youth, volunteers, and families.

As always, our goal is to make every group activity a positive experience for our Scouts, families, and scouters. Fundraisers also need to be worth everyone’s time and effort. As leaders, we recognize that delivering flyers during a blizzard and collecting bottles on a day with a forecasted high of -2°C is not ideal. For these reasons, we feel a change of date is necessary.

The 2nd Regina Group traditionally holds bottle drives early in the spring and fall. These earlier dates help ensure safer conditions and more successful fundraising, as we reach households before other groups and avoid issues such as wasps later in the season.

Below are the updated dates and details for our bottle drive. Please note that this new bottle drive date was originally scheduled as our tentative Spring Camp date. We are currently working with Echo Valley Provincial Park to confirm a new camp date. This may take a few days, and we appreciate your patience while we finalize those arrangements. Families who have already registered for the camp do not need to take any action unless they are unable to attend on the new date once it is confirmed.

New Bottle Drive Flyer Delivery:
Thursday, April 23rd (5:45–7:00 p.m.)

New Bottle Drive Collection Date:
Saturday, April 25th (8:45 a.m. start)

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility with this change. Your continued support makes a meaningful difference in helping our group fund activities and programming for our Scouts.

We will still be meeting at Lakeview United Church this Thursday at the regular time for a normal meeting.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or would like to discuss this further. Thank you again for your support – we look forward to seeing everyone on the new date!

Yours in Scouting,
Greg Korpan
