Fall Camp Reminder & Information

Good afternoon Beaver & Cub families,

For those joining us at Rowan’s Ravine this weekend, we’d like to share a few additional details to help you prepare for camp.

This weekend, we’ll be working on a variety of outdoor skills, including cut and burn first aid, fire lighting, shelter building, compass navigation, and, of course, a few fun games along the way.

Camp Information

  • Friday arrivals: If you’re joining us Friday evening, please plan to arrive around 6:00 PM. With daylight becoming shorter, setting up camp is much easier (and more enjoyable!) before dark. Please eat supper before arriving.
  • Saturday arrivals: If you’re joining us on Saturday, please arrive by 9:00 AM. We’ll begin with our camp opening ceremony and start the day’s activities shortly afterward.
  • Packing list: A packing list with our recommended items is linked below. Overnight temperatures are expected to be cool but above freezing. A toque is highly recommended for sleeping, and a winter jacket and gloves or mitts will help keep everyone comfortable during the chilly mornings. I’ll be packing mine!

  • Pickup: Camp concludes at 11:00 AM on Sunday. Please plan to arrive at or before that time, as several Scouters have other commitments afterward.
  • Adult volunteers: Any adults attending camp must complete the online Safe Scouting module. If you have any questions, please contact Scouter Greg Korpan at 306-501-8887.

We’re looking forward to a fun and adventurous weekend. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
