Scout Activities & Camping

The Scout program includes regular camping in a variety of weather conditions. Over the years, our group has camped in tents and snow shelters in temperatures as cold as -18°C. Youth are carefully prepared for these experiences through skill development, planning, and age-appropriate activities.

Many camps, especially winter camps, are geared toward older youth. Beavers and Cubs focus on learning foundational outdoor skills that prepare them for these future adventures.

Camping is a major focus of our program. When we’re not camping, we’re often planning for upcoming camps or developing the skills that make camping safer, more comfortable, and more enjoyable.

Camping Equipment

If your family does not have camping equipment, we can help. The Group has a limited number of loaner sleeping bags and other gear available.

In some cases, Scouters may also have extra gear they are willing to sell as they upgrade or no longer need certain items. Please reach out if you have questions, we’re happy to help families get started.

Travel & Transportation

Transportation to and from camp locations is provided by parents or guardians. Families sometimes choose to carpool to save time and fuel.

Scouters do not arrange transportation but can help start an email chain if families wish to coordinate. As a general rule, Scouters are not permitted to transport youth.
